Old Tradition ~ New Recipe

Never waste a precious opportunity to give thanks!  Some years ago, we started a simple, yet effective, Thanksgiving meal tradition.  After grace over the food is given, we pass around a small bowl/dish filled with kernels of corn.  First, each person is to take 3 kernels from the dish.  As it comes back around, we each drop a kernel back into the dish as we share 3 things that we are most thankful for during the past year.  It's truly a wonderful way to slow down and give thanks to the Lord and each other...

We pretty much make old traditional dishes to fill the table and our tummies.
However, that doesn't mean we can't try new ones...

I will be trying out something I have been tossing around in my head.  Being motivated by one of my favorite treats at Starbucks, their "Mini Pecan Tarts", I have decided to try my hand at making a large pecan tart to add to the mix of our family favs!
I think I was successful in making the crumbly crust portion of the recipe for my tart!  If the filling turns out as good...I will share pictures and recipe shortly!
