My French-Inspired Cottage

My husband and I live in a remote village in the foothills of the Ozarks.
A lovely place where wild roses grow free and country scenes bloom along the way,
 enticing us all
to just stop for a moment and breath in all the natural beauty.

The last time I shared a post we were living in a farmhouse that we were sharing with our business.
Things have changed since then, I am happy to announce that we were finally able to buy a house that, with some tender loving care, would make a lovely place to fill with French country charm...

Rose Rock Cottage
Rose Rock Cottage, as I lovingly call it, is my French-inspired cottage.

First: Paint & A Little Ceiling Love

So, a couple of years back, I happened on to this ceiling medallion.  I really had no clue where this big round thing was going to fit into my life...I just knew that it had a future with me and I had to protect it until the appointed time.

Looking up at my new living room ceiling, I knew in an instant where this medallion was going to spend the remained of it's years.  If only it wasn't so plastic looking and those colors...yuck!

Chalk paint to the rescue!  It adheres to plastic and gives your project a whole new look and feel...

It went on so easy that I felt like I was cheating my way to a beautiful ceiling that looked like something out of an old French chateau!  What fun...

In my next post, I'll be sharing the finished pairing of the painted medallion and my
 French-inspired chandelier.
